Job Title: MICROBIOLOGY SCIENTIST

The Microbiology Scientist – within the Drug Product Analytical and Microbiology Science – is a key contributor to the research and development pipeline and portfolio. The resource is responsible for managing, developing, implementing and optimizing biological and microbiological test methods. The role requires hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support pipeline and portfolio development programs in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize microbiological test methods (microbial cell count, Challenge test) to support pipeline and portfolio development programs.
- Manage biological methods (cell culture, ELISA, bioassays, endotoxins, Mini Ames Test) to support research and development objectives.
- Plan, design, and execute experiments to advance development programs and enhance pipeline and portfolio products.
- Standardize and validate data to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA, and GxP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide microbiology-related scientific expertise and ensure the success of projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends, scientific advancements, and evolving regulatory requirements to maintain technical and professional excellence.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Biological or Pharmaceutical Sciences with Microbiological expertise, or a related field.
You bring 3-5 years of experience in similar roles, ideally within a University Microbiology or Biology Laboratory, or in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry.
- Proven experience working with biosafety cabinet.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments, equipment, and related software.
- Strong expertise in the development and validation of biological (cell culture and bacteria) test methods
- Solid understanding of regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA, GxP).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
The salary for this role starts from €46,400 gross per year, depending on experience and location. The offer is determined based on gender-neutral criteria, including relevant skills, competencies, and experience.
